Solid-State Additive Deposition of AA7075 on AZ31B Substrate: Heat Treatment to Improve the Corrosion Fatigue Resistance

The influence of heat treatment on the coating microstructure, nanomechanical, and corrosion fatigue properties solid-state deposition AA7075 aluminum alloy AZ31B cast Mg is studied in detail. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) microstructural analysis shows columnar grain at interface AA7075/AZ31B. Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) observation discovered elongated grains with a high fraction deformed boundaries as-deposited heat-treated 200 °C conditions. In contrast, annealed samples show recrystallized increasing temperatures from to 400 °C. residual stress surface subsurface measured by X-ray −55 MPa −122 MPa, respectively, which transferred tensile annealing temperature up Annealing considerably improved nanomechanical resistance.
